Let your gentleness be evident to all!

Wednesdays are Love Letters to my Husband days…

To my darling,

There are so many traits about you that I love – I love how you live life effortlessly; I applaud your kindness and how you see the beauty in everything (especially me).

But, I have to say – the one part of who you are that I do love the most is your gentleness.  I have never, not once in the 20 years we have been together, seen you NOT be gentle.  I know I can get aggressive, emotional, argumentative, in a rush…  and often you have to tell me to calm down, take a step back, to just breathe.

But you take things in your stride, in a gentle and calm manner.  You teach me about how to live life, how to handle what life throws your way…  You show me what it means to truly be a Christian.    I thank you for teaching me about life, about myself – and about the kind of person I want to be.

Philippians 4:5 (NIV):  Let your gentleness be evident to all.  The Lord is near.

You’re gentle with our child, and you are gentle with our pets.  You are gentle and kind with our friends, and with people we meet along life’s way.  You always look for the good in people – and I hope and pray that never changes.

Thank you for teaching me about the kind of person I want to be.

I love you.
