Discernment – “And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ.” Phil. 1:9-10 (Reference here)
I pray that our love – the love between my husband and I – will grow and strengthen each and every day. Help us Lord in our weakness and human frailty to nurture this love. Help us Lord to also nurture our love for you, so that both in our lives and in our marriages we can learn to discern what will please you. And honoring, loving and respecting each other will please you. Thank you Lord for giving us your word so that we can know what you expect from us, from our marriages, and know that you give us your Holy Spirit to help us and to guide us. We cannot do this on our own, but with you Lord, we can do all things (Philippians 4:13). Thank you Lord that marriages are so very important to you – it shows the world what your love is like, its our picture to see what love is. Help us to understand that, so that we can grow in that love – your love and in our love for each other.
In Jesus name we pray.
