“You, dear children are from God and have overcome them (those who deny that Jesus is from God and who have the spirit of the world), because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world,” 1 John 4:4
Last week, Pearl encouraged us to separate what the world tells us intimacy is (think: Fifty Shades of Grey) as opposed to what God’s truth tells us intimacy is. And there is a difference – in the world, it’s about getting off. With whoever, however, and wherever you want – using whichever tools are at your disposal.
In God’s kingdom – it’s about a heart-to-heart connection with your spouse. And when that heart-to-heart connection is happening, all the little logistics of the how, when, where and how often don’t really seem to matter too much. Likewise, when the how, when and where and how often are dealt with to the satisfaction of both partners – it then creates the environment for the heart-to-heart to happen.
You can’t have the heart-to-heart without the when and where and how often. You can’t have the when, where and how often effectively without the heart-to-heart.
So, stop thinking in the world’s terms – start thinking in God’s truth.
Ephesians 4:21-24 (NIV): …when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
And today, Pearl helps us to acknowledge that the path we are walking on to unlock our libido is not an easy one. It is hard. But, we need to keep the faith and always walk in God’s truth – He wants us to intimately, spiritually and physically connect with our husbands.
Have faith in the Lord during your time of adversity, sweet sisters. Low-libido may be your adversity, but He will show you a way to conquer it. Sexual intimacy with our husbands is God-ordained and it can be quite pleasurable, whether that pleasure be physical, emotional or spiritual.
