Lord, Paul speaks on the importance of being content in any and every situation (Philippians 4:12), but in today’s society so many people equate contentment with being comfortable. May my husband know the distinction between the two! Help him never be afraid to challenge himself spiritually, physically, or even financially. Instead, may my husband eagerly and fearlessly walk in a way similar to that of Jesus, who had no place to lay His head (Matthew 8:20) and stretched himself in every way while in the desert fasting (Luke 4:1-13) yet was content despite not living a “comfortable” lifestyle. I pray that this week, the Holy Spirit will begin to prick at my husband’s heart in order to make him feel uncomfortable. I pray that my husband would delight in stretching himself so that his source of security would exclusively be in Jesus Christ and so that he will not put any confidence in his own flesh (Philippians 3:3). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
