Dear Lord, please show my husband, just as You did with the Rich Young Ruler, the greatest obstacle in his life that keeps him from growing in his relationship with You (Mark 10:17-22). Everyone has their own personal sin struggles, and my husband is no exception (Romans 3:23), but Lord, I pray that he will never rationalize, compare, or minimize the effects of sin. Instead, may he experience godly sorrow and the joy that comes through confession (2 Corinthians 7:9-11, 1 John 1:9). You provide a way out of every temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13), and I pray that my husband would always look for Your divine escape. Enable him to follow Jesus’ example of fighting Satan’s tricks by using the Holy Word (Luke 4:1-13). Spur him towards true life change that comes through repentance and give him a passion for avoiding his particular areas of struggle (Acts 3:19, Romans 6:1-2). I ask this all in the name of the One who was sinless. Amen.
